How much does Scout Alarm cost?

You will pay $347.00 upfront for a basic home security system from Scout Alarm. A monitoring plan is required, but there is no long-term contract. Scout’s monitoring plans are month-to-month and cost between $9.99 and $19.99 per month.

Note: The cost of a basic security system includes the purchase of a hub, door panel, 3 access sensors, 1 motion sensor, 1 yard sign, and 3 window decals.

What monitoring options or plans are available from Scout Alarm?

Scout requires a monitoring plan with the purchase of each system, but does not require a long-term contract. There are two monitoring options available for Scout alarm systems.

Always On+ ($19.99/mo)

Always On+ is the best value and turns your Scout Alarm into a professionally monitored, interactive home security system. It is available without a contract and costs $19.99 per month. Always On+ includes all of the remote access and self-monitoring features included in the basic plan. Scout is offering a 10% discount on monitoring if you purchase an annual plan for $215 per year.

Always On ($9.99/mo)

Always On is a basic plan available to customers that prefer to self-monitor their Scout systems. It includes remote access and various notification options, but lacks professional monitoring. It is priced at $9.99 a month and there is no contract. While it does not provide the same level of protection, Always On is an inexpensive alternative to traditional monitoring plans offered by other home security companies.

What home security equipment does Scout Alarm offer?

Scout Hub: $129.00 (required)

Scout Hub placed on a shelf.

The Scout Hub is the brains of the system and connects all of the wireless sensors to one another. This piece of equipment is required with the Purchase of a new system. You cannot have a Scout alarm system without the Scout Hub.

Scout Door Panel: $69.00 (required)

A Scout Door Panel attached to a door.

At least one Scout Door Panel is needed for arming and disarming a Scout alarm system. It is placed on the primary entry point of the home (e.g. front door). Each Door Panel comes with two wireless key fobs and one RFID sticker.

Access Sensor: $29.00

A Scout Access Sensor attached to double doors in a house.

Other home security companies refer to these as door/window contacts or perimeter sensors. They are wireless sensors that you place on doors, windows, gun safes, medicine cabinets, etc. At the very least, you should have a Scout Access Sensor on each door that provides entry into your home.

Motion Sensor: $49.00

A wireless motion sensor from Scout Alarm placed on a side table inside of a home.

Scout’s wireless motion sensor is the secondary line of defense in the home. It has a 25 foot range and works during the daytime and nighttime. Motion detectors should be placed in rooms with large glass doors or windows, main areas of the home (e.g. living room), and placed where valuables are stored. Every home should have at least one Scout Motion Sensor.

Scout Yard Sign: $10.00

Yard signs are a visual deterrent and part of a home’s first line of defense. Place a Scout yard sign in the front and back or side of your home.

Wireless Key Fob: $4.99

Scout’s wireless key fob allows you to arm and disarm the Door Panel remotely. Two key fobs are included with the purchase of a Door Panel.

RFID Sticker (Secret Key): $2.49

Think of Scout’s RFID Sticker as a secret key to your home security system. It sticks to almost anything and is used at the Door Panel to arm or disarm the Scout system. Each Door Panel includes one RFID sticker.

Scout Window Decal: $1.00

Window decals are another visual deterrent. They are simple, yet effective at deterring intruders from breaking into a home. Make them a part of your home’s first line of defense by placing them on street facing windows and other easily accessible windows or glass doors.
